Fruit and Energy Ball SkewersLooking for a unique different way to serve your fruit?  Here’s a healthy snack, easy to make and perfect for young kids all the way to adults.   This combination skewers of fruits and energy balls ensures your snack is complete and filling. As well as being nutritious the energy balls are just as delicious as chocolate!

Fruit Skewers

Directions
Cut your favourite fruits and slide them onto the skewers

Energy Balls

Ingredients

½ cup almonds
1 cup fresh dates, pitted (about 15 dates)
½  cup quick cooked oats
¼ cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
½ tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a food processor chop the almonds into big chunks
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until they hold together
  3. Using your hands, roll little balls with the mixture and place them on parchment paper. Cover and refrigerate

Note: The energy balls will stay fresh for 2 weeks in the fridge. The chia seeds are optional; they add crunch and omega 3 (good fats)
